“The Aegon Open Nottingham comprises a women’s WTA International event and a men’s ATP World Tour 250 event in 2016, played two weeks apart,” explains tournament director Rebecca James. “They are like the ‘book-ends’ of the tour level grass court season really, with the WTA event the week after the French Open and therefore a key opportunity for players to start their grass court preparations, and the ATP event the week before Wimbledon. The WTA event was a brand new event in 2015.
